Risk factors are:
Categorized as Observed or Preexisting
Grouped within Category
Enrollment or GPA (for Observed Category)
Admit credential (for Preexisting Category)
Classified as Moderate or High Risk
Used to determine overall Risk level for student
High = at least one high risk factor
Moderate = No high risk factors, at least one moderate
Observed Risk Factors:
Enrollment
21st Century Scholars – High Risk
21st Century Scholar Below 15 Enrolled Hours
21st Century Scholar Fall Earned Hrs Plus Spring Enr Hours Below 30 (Spring only)
Credits in Excess of Degree Requirements:
UGrad with over 145 credits – High Risk
UGrad with over 130 credits – Moderate Risk
More than one course drop in term – Moderate Risk
Not Enrolled Next term – High Risk
GPA
Drop in current GPA from cumulative (difference between cumulative and term gpa)
1.5 or greater grade point drop – High Risk
Between 0.5 and 1.5 grade point drop – Moderate Risk
Drop in Term GPA Compared to Last Term (difference between current term gpa and prior term gpa )
1.0 or greater grade point drop – High Risk
Between 0.5 and 0.99 grade point drop – Moderate Risk
Low Cumulative GPA
Below 2.0 – High Risk
2.0-2.49 – Moderate Risk
Low Prior Term GPA
Below 2.0 – High Risk
2.0-2.49 – Moderate Risk
Recent Unsatisfactory Grades (final grades for students last graded term within last five years)
More than 1 F grade, last completed term – High Risk
